INTRODUCING…FLAGLER VILLAGE
By now, you’ve seen the empty lots. You may have even heard the name. Welcome to the newest concept for living right in the heart of Fort Lauderdale – Flagler Village.
Flagler Village incorporates the area from north of Broward Boulevard to Sears Town, and west of Federal Highway to the Florida East Coast Railway. With Victoria Park its neighbor to the east and downtown its neighbor to the south, Flagler Village is primed to be Fort Lauderdale’s next hot and hip neighborhood.
But it’s not just location that will make Flagler Village unique. The first ever of its kind in Fort Lauderdale, the Village will combine live/work/play areas creating an exciting urban village. One new concept is the Live/Work three floor town homes which will give residents who own their own business work space on the first floor and living space on the two upper floors. Talk about a great commute! Other buildings planned will be mixed use containing residential, commercial, and ground floor retail space all in one.
Over 20 different buildings are already in some sort of development totaling approximately 3,500 units. Although there are high rises in the works for the outer edges of Flagler Village, many of the buildings will be seven stories or less. Developments range in size from as little as 12 units to as many as 300. Lofts are the hot item with 10 to 20 foot ceilings depending on the building and floor, promising lots of windows and a modern look. However, with each building having its own look and feel, there will be plenty of housing options to choose from.
While Flagler Village promises lots of selection, the City of Fort Lauderdale and developers are working to create a consistent community feel across the entire 151 acre site. To bring it all together, the area will have new wide sidewalks, streets, matching fences and trees, lighting and landscaping creating a pedestrian friendly - walk, don’t drive - environment. A trolley system is also being planned to tie the Village to downtown and Las Olas. There is even talk of a light rail system in the future.
Some buildings are already sold out, some are just now taking reservations, but many of the buildings that will be Flagler Village are still in the development stage. If the early buildings are any example, once units do become available, it is a fast race to see who can get them before it’s too late. Avenue Lofts have already sold out all five phases. And all of The Courtyards at Flagler Village went under reservation in the first week.
If you would like to be part of Fort Lauderdale’s hottest new neighborhood, now is the time to get started. For more information on the opportunities at Flagler Village, please drop me an email or give me a call. Thank you.
